Starcraft 2 Beta & System Requirements

After years of development and anticipation, Starcraft II has finally entered beta. If you’re one of the lucky ones who received an invite you can now test the multiplayer component of SCII.

You can read the official beta FAQ to find out how you can enter into the beta, but it’s a longshot. In case you’re interested, you will need the following system requirements:

• Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7
• 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
• 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
• 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
• 1024×768 minimum display resolution
• 4 GB free hard space (Beta)
• Broadband connection

Hopefully there will be more beta invites soon and keys will likely be given on various community sites. The release date for Starcraft 2 is not yet set, but apparently the game should be out in late 2010.
