As previously announced Call of Duty: Black Ops is official and is being developed by the Treyarch team. Game Trailers TV has revealed the first trailer for the game.
As you can see, there’s a lot of action going on in all different types of settings. This confirms what was said on the U.K. retailer Game site.
Call of Duty returns this November, but this is a Call of Duty like no other, this is Black Ops.
Now you will witness the birth of the Elite Special Forces and take part in off-the-record missions using unconventional weaponry to get the job done! From Cuba to the Arctic and the jungles of Vietnam, Call of Duty: Black Ops features stunning cinematic graphics and intense gameplay that puts you right at the heart of the action!
Call of Duty: Black Ops takes place Treyarch’s representation of the Cold War. As seen on the trailer and on the description on Games’ site. Players might partake in conflicts based on true events like in Cuba (alternative versions of the Bay of Pigs invasion and Cuban Missile Crisis), Vietnam (Vietnam War), South America (Operation Condor), USSR (infiltration mission), maybe Afghanistan (Soviet War in Afghanistan) and Arctic missions.
If Treyarch heads down this road, then it will be very interesting seeing how they connect all these events and characters together. However it is quite possible that Treyarch would throw away everything about the Cold War, and make their own Cold War. This would make it easier to create a coherent story and allow more creativity like in the Modern Warfare series.
